Minesweeper strategy

Minesweeper strategy. Compare adjacent numbers before opening a covered cell. A 1 with only one covered neighbor proves that neighbor is a mine.

Make your next move count

Compare adjacent numbers before opening a covered cell. A 1 with only one covered neighbor proves that neighbor is a mine.

Treat your own flags as hypotheses until checked. Chording a number with misplaced flags can reveal a mine even when the flag count looks right.

Use the dedicated Flag button on a phone. Pan from the board margin and enlarge dense boards instead of tapping uncertain tiny cells.

A position to try

An open 1 with exactly one covered neighbor proves a mine there. If an adjacent open 1 touches that proven mine, all its other covered neighbors are safe. A player flag alone is not proof.
