Free play: use the 24 keys; A S D F G H J K L ; play white keys, W E T Y U O P play black keys. Use the octave switch for the upper keys. Rhythm: D F J K or the four pads.
- Free play offers two octaves with 24 keys. Touch a key or use the keyboard shortcuts; scroll the keyboard on a narrow screen. The upper-octave switch extends computer-keyboard access. There is no win or loss in free play.
- Rhythm mode contains six original pieces lasting 45–75 seconds. Choose a piece and press D, F, J or K, or its touch pad, when the note reaches the line.
- An input within 80 milliseconds earns Accurate and 100 points; within 180 milliseconds earns Good and 50 points. An overdue note is a Miss. Each note scores once. Finishing a piece records your score, without a forced pass mark.
- Sound starts off. The sound button enables locally synthesized piano tones; no music is downloaded. Pause stops the game clock, and resume counts down three seconds. The daily challenge fixes a piece by UTC date. Refresh and language switching preserve progress.
Daily deals use the UTC date and mode, identically in every language.
