How to play Mahjong Solitaire
Find matching tiles, uncover the next pair, and clear a beautifully layered board. Three layouts, helpful hints, and a new daily challenge. Use a mouse, touch screen, or keyboard to select your next move. There is no countdown: take the time you need.
- Match two tiles from the same group. Numbered tiles, winds, and dragons match identical faces; any two flowers match, and any two seasons match.
- A tile must have no tile above it and an open left or right edge. Darker tiles are blocked until you uncover them.
- Clear all 144 tiles to win. Compare the tiles a pair will expose before removing it.

Make the game your own
Choose Turtle for a classic layered shape, Pyramid for a raised central challenge, or Fortress for two raised sides. Every new starting arrangement has a verified removal sequence. That does not guarantee that every sequence of player choices will succeed.
Hint identifies a legal move rather than solving the entire game. Undo restores the previous position. Restart returns to your original deal, while New game starts a different one. Changing a mode or replacing a game in progress asks for confirmation.

Can I play without downloading anything?
Yes. The game runs in a modern browser with JavaScript enabled. You do not need an account or a separate app. Core game files are loaded from this site.
Does my progress save automatically?
Your current game, elapsed time, and personal statistics save in this browser when local storage is available. Clearing site data, changing browsers, or using some private browsing settings can remove the save. Progress does not sync across devices.
How does the daily challenge work?
Daily challenges change at midnight UTC. The game, selected mode, date, and engine version determine the deal. Choose Daily challenge to start it. If you return to an older saved daily deal, you can finish it before starting today’s.
Can I play offline?
Visit this game and let it finish loading while online first. The site caches visited games for later offline use in the same browser. If the browser removes cached data, you will need to connect again. Read the offline play guide.
Are the cards or tiles too small?
Choose Enlarge to increase the board size and scroll to reach every part. Fit board returns to the whole-board view. On touch screens, selecting a source and then its destination works without dragging.
